Buddhist Insights is a non-profit organization connecting monastics with lay-people.

By using technology to build community and engage audiences in meaningful learning

experiences of the Dhamma, Buddhist Insights aims to create a modern and solid

support system for the Western Buddhist community.

We partner with monasteries and temples, as well as lay Dhamma practitioners and

secular groups throughout the West, to create a powerful network of monastics and lay

communities that mutually support each other.

Monks and nuns from various Buddhist traditions are invited to come to urban centers

to offer the gift of the Dhamma for designated short periods of times, and therefore

enabled to teach in both secular and non-secular settings while building solid

relationships with lay communities, without needing to give up the pursuit of living a

contemplative life.

The Buddhist monastic order is the oldest institution in the world that is still operating

according to its traditional bylaws. As an order composed of individuals who have

dedicated their lives to studying and practicing the Buddha’s teachings, it is a valuable

source of highly experienced and knowledgeable Dhamma teachers. Buddhist Insights’

long-term goal is to preserve this institution in the West by familiarizing the public with

it, while helping it stay relevant in today’s modernized society.

Complying with ancient Buddhist tradition, Buddhist Insights operates entirely on

donations (dāna), through the generosity of its supporters, attendees, and grassroots
